The Hidden Perils of 'New' Technology. As the Romans reveled in their new technology with lead, So we 'moderns' revel in the wonders of morphologically plastic, plastics. Lead poisoning for the ancients and micro- and nano-plastics for the moderns' lungs! (By the way, lead--plumbum--Pb--gave us the name for plumbers!) (Will we have a new handle for the ignorant plastic-killers?) (Removing lead pipes is one thing, but plastics of any sort pervading the whole world?)
