New Year's Eve. Today is 2023; Tomorrow will be 2024. Time, when contemplated, is a funny thing. There are 'other' peoples' calendars Which do not coincide with 'ours'. Calendars, besides dates, Reflect various histories and events; It is all relevant to the awareness of a culture. In addition, the months in a 'year' are often Relegated to the cycling of the moon or the sun, Yielding conflicting nomenclature of 'time'. Months are named for people or events-- But why is December, the 12th month, Named 'Deci', meaning 10?! Even the days' names have individual significance. Time is an imaginary fiction, defined by human need and desire To have illusionary control over an overwhelming universe. Frank Maurer 30 December 2023 1230 Hours.
